Robert SteadManaging DirectorRob is the driving force and passion behind Sense Media, he has been working in B2B conferences for 10 years and ran the Image Sensors conference in London each March for the last eight years prior to setting up Sense Media. He has in-depth knowledge of the B2B conference world and extensive management and strategic experience across Production, Marketing, Operations and Sales disciplines. Rob is the face of Sense Media and is well connected in the digital imaging market with relationships with senior representatives of most, if not all of the major technology developers in CMOS imaging as well as many academics, end users, consultants and service providers. Rob is a scientist at heart, and an academic background in physics and environmental science and is driven by a desire to learn about machine perception as well as running best-in-class events. Outside of work, Rob likes to play golf, cycle long distances, walk in the hills, and tinker with his ‘classic’ car.
Sophie WestMarketing DirectorSophie co-founded Sense Media in 2015, with 10 years conference marketing experience including other roles. She has worked across many different industries and verticals in the conferencing world including industrial biotechnology, medical, new technology, pharmaceutical, food contact, paper recycling, media and advertising and finance. She achieved her CIM Professional Certificate in Marketing in 2008, and has always had clear drive and passion for marketing events and conferences. Sophie brings to the table a rare combination of excellent analytical mind and detailed process, alongside a passion for design and creativity. Outside of work, Sophie likes to spend time with her son and partner enjoying the great outdoors and travelling to interesting countries.
Lina AloustaBusiness Development ManagerLina joins us with an extensive international background in Sales with the exhibition, conference and event sectors. Covering various industries: defence, oil & gas, technology and packaging, Lina was pivotal in successfully organising and managing an international print exhibition with over 450 exhibitors. She includes passion in every project she conducts and believes in a client’s long term growth. Outside of work, Lina takes part in water sports, enjoys travelling and learning languages. Her degree in Graphic Design BA(Hons) draws her to delve into the creative world of photography and art at every opportunity.
Alex Lawrence-BerkleyHead of New ProjectsAlex comes from a broadcasting background, having trained and worked as a cameraman, news editor and then moved into the management and development of interactive media, communications, and most recently online marketing in the B2B events sector. It’s the hands-on approach which Alex still applies in problem solving, irrespective of the system used, even today. Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with his family, cooking and playing badminton.
Hayley MarsdenHead of ProductionHayley brings 7 years of conference production and management experience, as well as very strong commercial insight, operations experience and proven capability of consensus building at an international level. She enjoys working with advisory boards and liaising with event stakeholders to help them get the most out of their events. Hayley relishes the organisational challenges in the lead up to and onsite at events, and seeing everything come together. In her spare time, Hayley loves dancing and is part of an amateur musical theatre company, and also enjoys great food, either through cooking it, or eating out with her boyfriend and friends.
Caroline PepperOperations ManagerCaroline has been organising exhibitions and conferences around the world for almost 20 years. Having been involved in many start up projects in varied industries, she enjoys bringing processes and procedures to ensure maximum operational efficiency to all events. She loves the challenge of working abroad, of improving budgets and of ensuring sessions and networking activities are run calmly and with a smile even if things don’t quite go to plan. Outside of working she enjoys travelling, volunteering as a Cub Scout Leader, going to music festivals, reading and being a Wife and Mum to two teenagers.
Deborah FelicioOperations CoordinatorDeborah hails from Brazil, and has extensive customer service and operations experience from both civil service and commercial enterprise environments. Highly customer-oriented, she has managed teams of customer service staff in B2C and B2B situations, as well as having taken on operations and sales roles in the conference and exhibition sector. Deborah recently set up her own business in her native Brazil, which is now running as an independent entity, and we are delighted to have her on board with Sense Media as we launch our first events. Outside of work, Deborah enjoys cooking and baking, going to the beach, and doing the occasional triathlon.
